Migrating Data From Other Services
NextCloud is configured to make it easy to migrate from commercial cloud services. To access any of these features, login to the DCS cloud in a web browser, click your profile picture in the top-right, select Settings, then Data migration.
Migration is currently a one time, one-way import of your data from these services to NextCloud – once imported, any changes you make to those files will NOT be synced back to external services.
Dropbox
Click the Connect to Dropbox button and login to your Dropbox account, taking care to review the consent screen. Once you’ve authorised the connection, copy the generated code and paste it into the authentication field in NextCloud. Select a desired destination folder (including / to import to your root NextCloud folder), and click Import Dropbox files. Your data will now be imported to Nextcloud in the background.
Click the Sign In With Google button and login to your Google account, taking care to review each screen before continuing.
Currently, you will receive a warning that the Application is in Test Mode and has not yet been verified by Google. This is expected and normal while we wait for Google to complete their lengthy verification process. Until this is complete, you will need to provide Darkmyre with the email address associated with your Google account in order to use this feature (while in Test Mode, the Application Developer must pre-approve any ‘Test Users’).
The next screen prompts for which permissions you’d like to approve. Each of the deselected permissions is required to import the related data to Nextcloud. It is therefore recommended to tick all permissions to allow a full import to occur. Each type of data (drive/contacts/calendar/photos) can be imported independently after completing the sign-in/permission process.
OneDrive
As with Google, click the button to sign in with OneDrive and grant NextCloud the required permissions to import your data. Once successfully connected, you can choose to import your OneDrive files, Contacts, or Calendars to Nextcloud.
